Air Cargo Carriers
If you are interested in air cargo companies, or are a part of one, then you know about air cargo carriers. If you are not a part of a cargo company, then perhaps you don't know. There is a lot of information to understand. What kinds of planes are used for cargo? What kind of space does each plane have? What prices are charged for use of the planes? It is important to know the answers to these questions, especially if you are involved with a freight shipping company.
Air transport is essential to manage and control the flow of goods, energy, information, and other vital resources needed for commerce and other types of services. Without air cargo services, it would be impossible to do any kind of global trading, import/export processes, or repositioning of raw materials and products, unless using the services of ocean freight.
Air transport has also streamlined several business processes, such as making it easier to receive information, the speed of transportation, faster exchanges of inventory, and many others. There are many different kinds of cargo planes out there. Some of these include the Boeing 707, Douglas DC-8, Ilyushin Il-76, and Douglas DC-3. Some air cargo companies are starting to modify turboprop planes to be used as cargo carriers as well.
There are several types of air cargo carriers used for different sized payloads. Most cargo can fit into a Boeing 747-400, which is one of the larger, standard freight aircraft, and it can hold up to 26,000 cubic feet (736 m3) of cargo. If a freight shipping company needs to move huge things, such as helicopters, or even other planes, then they would use a super transporter. These planes are built with a huge cargo area located above the cockpit, which allows freight to take up nearly the whole plane. Super transporters can usually carry up to 47 tons of cargo, which is not quite enough to carry the biggest things in the world. There is an even bigger transporter out there. The biggest cargo carrier in the world is the Antonov AN-225, and it can hold over 250 tons of cargo, meaning that it can carry multiple tanks, and other really heavy things.
The world of air cargo carriers is large and interesting. It is fun to learn a little information that you might not have known otherwise, and learning about cargo planes is useful knowledge to have. It is also good for any freight shipping company to keep on top of all the air transport information so they can better aide their customers. So whether you're in an air cargo company, or just browsing for information, knowing about cargo planes can only be helpful.

Today's Tip On Air Freight
An airport code is a short, secret language used to identify different airports around the world. There are two main kinds of codes, the IATA codes and the ICAO codes. The IATA is a three letter cipher that deals more with how travelers identify the airports. The ICAO is a four letter cipher and deals more with international airports and airline professionals.
